Oh Brooklyn

We’re practicing a special group cover for a loft party tonight in Brooklyn (with us, Green Paper, and Fort Wilson Riot). No saying what it is, but it’s a song by four fab men.

We played at Brooklyn Fireproof last night, and a show that could have easily turned into a disaster formed out well. The venue had been double booked, so instead of three bands on the bill, there were six. The evening started out with three local Brooklyn bands, and we became worried when the majority of the audience left after that half of the show was finished.

We started out our half of the show tonight, and as we began to play people began to drift in from the bar. The large room also played perfectly into our sound. Fort Wilson Riot’s Jacob saved the day by bringing in microphones and acting as a stand-in sound guy. It’s night like this when I feel so lucky to be touring with friends. When you’re not playing music, you’re hanging out and having fun. Nobody hesitates to help each other out, share gear, carry equipment… It’s really a fantastic experience.

Also, I got a delicious burrito with Green Paper’s Tomm and Mike near the venue. Wonderful!

I’ll post some pictures later!

This is the blog of Gypsy Death and You, a two-piece band from Philadelphia. Emily Cahill and Alex Wilson formed the band after meeting in a music course during their freshman year of college, writing and recording their own brand of pretty/noisy indie rock.
