And It Ended…
Before we knew it, our mini-tour with Fort Wilson Riot and Green Paper was over.
The drive to our last show, on the 4th, happened to be the longest. We headed bright and early to Harrisonburg, VA from NYC. We stopped at lunch in Carlisle, PA, a small town in the center of the state.

After driving past a museum curiously called “War College”, we decided to stop. We had a good patriotic laugh at all of the old tanks and planes before getting back on the road.

In Harrisonburg, we played in a huge old house. In true H-burg fashion, the show was crazy, complete with sing-alongs and crowd surfing. We were joined at this gig by Malatese, a band containing some of my old friends from high school. The house we played in was fully stocked with empty mattresses, so after the show we situated ourselves in the attic for a short night of sleep.

Half of Gypsy Death (hint: the half that is not me), Jeff, and Natalie Green Paper had embarked on the 6 hour drive home at 2am the night before in order to return home for work the next day. The remaining band mates went out for a bagel breakfast before saying our final goodbyes.

I am so lucky to have had such a great experience with such great bands! Although we will be taking a short break from live gigs in order to finish our full-length, I’m excited to seewhat our gigging future holds. Many thanks to both Fort Wilson Riot and Green Paper! I’m sure you’ll hear news of the three of us together again in the future!

This is the blog of Gypsy Death and You, a two-piece band from Philadelphia. Emily Cahill and Alex Wilson formed the band after meeting in a music course during their freshman year of college, writing and recording their own brand of pretty/noisy indie rock.
